Your hands once so tiny
my own could wrap around them
now at 18 they are still small
slender and graceful

You are so petite
as I once was at your tender age
and your voice fills my ears
a certain music, unlike any other

when you laugh
my heart skips a beat
and the world seems warmer

Your heart is full of wonder
and your dreams bigger than the sky
as they should be and as I pray they
always shall be

Your spirit is like a wild stallion
embracing your new found freedom like
the moon embraces the earth

Such a glorious light you are
as you shine upon those around you
you are the miracle in my life
and the keeper of my heart and soul.

from the Heavens you were born
and every day you awaken in me
forgotten parts of myself and bring to life
that which I was not even aware existed or could
exist within me.
