New Years Eve

today I look back upon 2009
remembering the good times
and also the very hard and sad times
each memory I take with me into the brand new year
with a heart and spirit filled with faith, humbleness, and most of all, love.

I wish my family and my friends many blessings in 2010
and as I say goodbye to 2009 I do so with gratitude for this life of mine
and with all my heart I wish you all...a very Happy New Year!

Cancer Strikes

not the first time down this path
but it's by far the scariest
I find such comfort through the love of my family and my friends

I find strength through my faith and through the words from others
who like myself find themselves seeking refuge from the storm
accepting that lightning has struck and we must find the means to endure.
